Good News For Nigerian Students As ASUU May Call Off Strike On Wednesday (Details)


After days of Endless Meetings between members of ASUU and the Federal Government, the institution has revealed that a unilateral decision has been taken after months of Strike and disagreements between the two bodies and it is clearly indicated in the agreement that classes may resume soon likely on Wednesday.
This is coming after a mutual agreement between ASUU and the Federal Government to pay an outstanding of academic allowances of 30 Billion Naira which was signed on the 15th of October, 2020. This was disclosed by the Minister of Labour and Employment who further explained that the money will be paid installmentally from May 2021 to January 2022.
In a subsequent development, emerging reports claim that ASUU may burry its hatchets and resume back to classes on Wednesday, October 21, after a clear hint that the Ministries of Education and Finance will hasten the release of the funds as agreed by both parties.
Also he added that the end to the seven months strike was concluded on the grounds that the federal government agreed to release 20 Billion Naira for the revitalizing of the educational sector in Nigeria which according to them was In a devastating state.
