3 Abducted by Gunmen in Zaira Polytechnic

On Saturday night (14-11-2020) armed suspected kidnappers allegedly invaded the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic in Zaria, Kaduna State. The armed men abducted three people during the incident. 

Kabir Abdullahi (the Rector of the Polytechnic), confirmed the incident. He stated that the invasion by the gunmen happened  around 9 pm. He identified the victims as  one lecturer with two of his children.

Abdullahi disclosed more about the lecturer whose name is Bello Atiku. Atiku happens to be the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering of Nuhu Bamalli, Zaria.

Sanusi Hassan (a staff), was fired a shot in the hand. Fortunately for him. He narrowly escaped being kidnapped along with others. He was immediately hospitalised for proper medical attention.

The account of the Rector is stated herein: “I was in Kaduna when the Chief Security Officer of the college called me and informed me about the attack. It is true that suspected armed bandits have kidnapped one of my staff, Engineer Bello Atiku who is the Head of Department, Computer Engineering of the school."

The Rector also added that: “He was also kidnapped along with two children to an unknown destination.”

He further pointed out that the school is prone to danger due to its exposure. The unfenced polytechnic is located on a large piece of land with a forest close which is harzardous.

The issue of insecurity in the North East and Kaduna gets more worrisome by the day. Citizens have expressed their concern on the issue a number of times and hope that it will be resolved soon.
