Eight (8) Benefits of Onions You Should Know

Onion is a household ingredient that can be found in almost every home. It is used for culinary purposes, it acts as ingredients, serves as flavour, first aid for bites and has other nutritional benefits that are mind blowing. It is from the family of garlic, chives, leeks etc known as allium genus.

Some months ago, someone shared her experience on a group, she was bitten by a scorpion at night and couldn't get to an hospital. The next morning, the site was terribly swollen and visibly contained blood underneath the skin, she was in so much pains. A neighbour quickly asked her to chew onions and cut the top of the site open, then applied the other part of the meshed onions on it. She said within minutes the swell and pains reduced drastically and was able to go to an hospital.

Also, another article talked about placing sliced onions in the corners of your room if you have catarrh and you'll notice great change. These are local first aid treatment uses of onions. People have also recommended onion oil for hair care.
